Unfinished, bleached, sanded and broken. This is one of the pieces turned and bleached by the late Bill Luce. I added the piercing. It was to be part of the AAW exhibit in Portland in May. Unfortunately, I dropped it coming down the loft stairs in the shop. The piece bounced three times and ended up with a nasty crack. I was considering using white Osmo wood wax but was hesitant in case it ruined the piece. Since I’d already ruined it, it was a good opportunity to try the product.

Finished with Osmo

I applied it with a foam brush. It looked like paint! I used a paper towel and removed the excess. This allowed the grain to show through. I haven’t buffed it yet. The lighting gives is a grey cast — need to work on camera skills. Also, there may be Osmo in the pierced holes. I have not cleaned them out yet. I did not glue the break before finishing in order to keep glue off the surface. I like the product. It gave a very smooth waxy-feeling finish. It softened the gray grain lines somewhat.
